Storytelling is a major part of our culture as Africans. Our Customs and traditions are passed on from one generation to another through story telling in diverse forms. We tell our African story how best we know how, through our Dance, Food, Clothing, Ceremonial activities including festivals, traditional marriages and naming ceremonies.

Our choice of appearance during such customary occasions forms a greater part of us as Africans. In Ghana, Kente and Ntoma (wax Print) are the main choice of clothing for any typical traditional occasions. Ideally, our cloths and Kente have names coming together to form small parts of a story told many years ago. The use of proverbs and wise sayings are also common in identifying and tracing the origin of our clothing.

Over the years, there has been an evolution in the African Fashion Industry which is progressing at a fast rate. With the aspiration to break into the international market, Fashion Designers draw inspiration from what is trending globally and using African Fabric produce merchandise for the international market. We have moved away from the typical Kaba and Slit and are coming up with more trendy wears.

Our African wax prints are general made from fine fabrics with 100% good quality cotton materials. The vibrant colors and bold pattern designs are the most prominent feature of the African prints that’s why a fast growing number of people worldwide not only the African people are buying.

We can see African Wax prints fabric are especially common in West Africa. In a crowded market, full of women and men wrapped in dresses made from these fabrics is a very compelling sight.

The prints fabric are made by covering the fabric with patterns made out of wax and then dipping it into vats of dye, often indigo.

EMBRACING WHO YOU ARE

Story from our Designer

I was trying to squeeze myself into another woman’s body, another woman’s style, and another woman’s beauty. As I looked at myself and started to embrace my unique body, style and beauty, the fear, uncertainty and confusing were slowly replaces with confidence.

What surprised me was this new confidence was not solely in how I viewed my outer appearance, but it was infused in ALL areas of my life. As I change and simplified how I saw fashion, I was able to enter the fashion world with the same ideals with JS Global Business and we created a unique and personal style that represented A PURE AFRICAN.

From the CEO

Mr. Jeffrey

I believe that fashion is not about what you wear, but how you wear it. It’s more than putting together outfits and different looks, but a form of expression of one’s identity, creating a new outer layer of skin. I live it. I breathe it. I express it, and I know Fashion is an eternal movement, that brings together men and women of all ages, races, religions.

“Encouragement to others is something everyone can give. Somebody needs what you have to give. It may not be your money; it may be your time. It may be your listening ear. It may be your arms to encourage. It may be your smile to uplift. Who knows?’’

‘’When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or curse, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand.

‘’ I have found that a smile and a stick will carry you through all right, and ninety-nine out of hundred it is the smile that does the trick.

‘’Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation’’
